National organization endorses Guyleen because she will be a strong voice for equality when elected
Broomfield, Colorado – Today LGBTQ Victory Fund – the only national organization dedicated to electing LGBTQ people to public office – endorsed Guyleen Castriotta for Broomfield Mayor. The endorsement signals Victory Fund’s confidence that Guyleen is well-positioned to win the council race and will be a strong voice for equality once elected. Guyleen would be first openly LGBTQ person to be Mayor of Broomfield if she wins her race.
“LGBTQ Victory Fund is pleased to endorse Guyleen Castriotta for Broomfield Mayor,” said Mayor Annise Parker, President & CEO of LGBTQ Victory Fund. “Guyleen’s commitment to smart public policy that addresses the real concerns of constituents makes her the best candidate in this race. When she wins in November, Guyleen will become a vital LGBTQ voice for equality in Broomfield.”
LGBTQ people remain severely underrepresented in government nationwide – holding just 0.18 percent of elected positions despite representing at least 4.5 percent of the U.S. population, according to Gallup. As an openly LGBTQ leader, Guyleen will be an unwavering voice for equality as the Mayor of Broomfield. Her priorities in office will include inclusive housing, economic vitality, public health and safety, a sustainable Broomfield.
Victory Fund will promote Guyleen’s endorsement among its hundreds of thousands of supporters nationwide. More information about Victory Fund can be found at victoryfund.org.
